UPPAbaby of Hingham, Massachusetts, is recalling approximately 79,000 2015 Cruz and 2015 Vista strollers and 2015 RumbleSeats in the U.S. and Canada because they pose a choking hazard.

The bumper bar on the strollers and the RumbleSeats is covered in foam that could be bitten off by a child, causing the child to choke. UPPAbaby has received 22 reports of children biting off a chunk of the bumper bar foam, according to Consumer Affairs.

The 2015 Cruz strollers have an aluminum alloy gray or black frame with a black canvas toddler seat, along with a colored fabric sunshade canopy and a black basket under the seat. The UPPAbaby name and logo are printed on the side of the canopy and “Cruz” is printed in white lettering on the strollers’ handlebars, Consumer Affairs reports.

The Vista strollers have a gray or back aluminum frame and a colored sunshade canopy. Vista strollers are designed to hold up to three children. “Vista” is printed on the handlebars of the strollers in white lettering and UPPAbaby can be found printed across the bottom diagonal rail of the stroller frame beside a black, fabric basket, according to Consumer Affairs.

The RumbleSeat is a separate seat attachment that can be attached to the stroller frame. Manufacture dates are stamped on the bottom of the seats. The affected RumbleSeats were manufactured from September 2014 through May 2015. The RumbleSeats come in various colors and allow the child to ride rear-facing, forward-facing or reclined. All of the strollers and RumbleSeats have a foam bumper bar across the middle of the product for the child to hold, Consumer Affairs reports.

The strollers and RumbleSeats were made in China and were sold at BuyBuy Baby and other child product retailers nationwide and online at Amazon.com from December 2014 to July 2015. The Cruz stroller costs about $500; the Vista stroller costs about $860, and RumbleSeats cost about $170, according to Consumer Affairs.

Consumers are instructed to immediately remove and stop using the bumper bar on the strollers and RumbleSeats and contact UPPAbaby to receive a free bumper bar cover and warning label.
