Car Crash in Long Island Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Critically Injured

One person is dead and two more are critically injured following a single-vehicle crash in Deer Park, Long Island. Associated Press reports that the 2003 Infiniti was headed southbound on Straight Path when the car veered off course and hit a tree south of Sagamore Lane. The incidence occurred at 4:30 a.m. Monday.

Suffolk County Police say the cause of the crash is currently unknown, but the weather was not a factor. All three occupants were of Wyandanch. The accident caused one of the occupants, a 28-year old man, to be ejected from the car; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two people were critically injured. Police do not currently know who was driving the vehicle.
